Who are the Friends?

Started in 1976, the Friends is a non-profit group of volunteers who commit time and energy to:

  • Encourage interest in library functions, resources, services and needs
  • Strive to extend and improve all library services and resources, especially children's programs
  • Provide funds, through successful used book sales, for materials and projects not covered by the library budget

The Friends believe that a strong library is essential to a strong community. To support this belief, the Friends promote reading, literacy and use of the library as a valuable community resource.

An Invitation . . .

  • Children's summer reading and other youth programs
  • Monthly "Author's Night" events
  • "Friday Foreign Films" series
  • "Armchair Adventures" film series
  • Creation of audio book collections on CD and MP3
